Schools, Hospitals and Public Entities may seek Energy Funds
Baton Rouge—The Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR), in partnership with the Louisiana Public Facilities Authority announces the availability of special, low-cost financing for publicly funded entities that want to develop and implement energy conservation measures. DNR Energy officials said the deadline for applying for the Energy Fund is being extended through April 30, 2002.
The Energy Fund is available to all publicly funded institutions under a performance-based energy efficiency contract. In addition to performance contracting, other types of energy-efficient initiatives may qualify for the Energy Fund. By updating heating and cooling equipment and by taking advantage of new energy technologies, entities can substantially reduce energy cost and save money with this program.
Energy Fund Assistance Request Forms are available by contacting, Louis McArthur at DNR/Energy Section at 225-342-1399.
