State Mineral and Energy Board announce May Leasing Results

BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $312,958 in bonus revenue for the state in the May lease sale. To date, the total collected in bonus payments for this fiscal year, FY2015-16 is $5.4 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded four leases covering 1,489 acres, with nominated tracts covering just over 38,210 acres. The leases were located in DeSoto, Iberia, and St. Mary parishes.
In the last fiscal year, the Board collected a total of $14 million in bonus payments and over $432.9 million in royalties for the state.
