State Mineral and Energy Board announces results of October Lease Sale

Baton Rouge- The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 remotely via Zoom conference.
The Board collected $584,277 in bonus revenue for the combined September/October lease sale, following the cancellation of the September Mineral Board meeting due to the impact of Hurricane Ida. The current 2021-2022 total bonus payment is approximately $1,459,313. At this month’s combined lease sale, there were 11 leases covering 554 acres sold. The leases were located in Caddo, DeSoto, Jefferson, Plaquemines, Sabine and Terrebonne parishes.
The total bonus payments to the state for the previous fiscal year, 2020-2021, amounted to $7 million.
