State Mineral and Energy Board announces results of Sept/Oct Lease Sale
Baton Rouge- The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $410,340 in bonus revenue for the September/October lease sale, which were combined due to the impacts of Hurricane Francine in September. The current 2024-2025 total bonus payment is approximately $2.89 million. At this month’s lease sale, there were 8 leases covering 698 acres sold. The leases were located in Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, DeSoto, Lafourche, Natchitoches, Plaquemines, Red River and Webster parishes.
The total bonus payments to the state for the previous fiscal year, 2023-2024, amounted to $14 million.
