State Mineral and Energy Board holds August Lease Sale

Baton Rouge-The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, August 13th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $951,605.65 in bonus revenue for the state in the August lease sale, bringing the Fiscal Year 2014-15 total collected to $2.4 million. At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 24 leases covering 2,806 acres, out of 35 nominated tracts covering more than 24,438 acres. In the last fiscal year, the board collected a total of $18.3 million in state revenue.
The Board sold leases in Avoyelles, Caddo, Concordia, East Feliciana, Lafourche, Plaquemines, St. Helena, Terrebonne parishes.
