State Mineral and Energy Board holds January Lease Sale

The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, January 8th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected over $816,900 in bonus revenue for the state in the January lease sale, bringing the Fiscal Year 2013-14 total collected to over $12.8 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 21 leases covering 2,332 acres, out of 58 nominated tracts covering more than 76,542 acres.
The Board sold leases in Acadia, Caddo, Concordia, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Lafourche, Plaquemines, St. Charles, St. Mary, Tangipahoa and Terrebonne parishes.
