State Mineral and Energy Board reports on June Lease Sale

BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $31,100 in bonus revenue for the state in the June lease sale. To date, the total collected in bonus payments for this fiscal year, FY2015-16 is $5.5 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded three leases covering 173 acres, with nominated tracts covering just over 4,657 acres. The leases were located in Acadia, Cameron, Jefferson Davis and St. Martin parishes.
In the last fiscal year, the Board collected a total of $14 million in bonus payments and over $432.9 million in royalties for the state.
