State Mineral and Energy Board reports on November Lease Sale
BATON ROUGE- The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, November 12th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.
The Board collected $69,330 in bonus revenue for the state in the November lease sale, bringing the Fiscal Year 2014-15 total collected to $4.4 million. At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 4 leases covering 392 acres, out of 7 nominated tracts covering more than 5,624 acres. The leases were sold in Acadia, Concordia, East Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Plaquemines parishes.
Additionally, the Board granted an Exclusive Geophysical Agreement for seismic activity on 4,732 acres on a tract in St. Mary Parish in the amount of $198,744.
In last fiscal year 2013-14, the board collected a total of $18.3 million in state revenue.
