State Mineral and Energy Board results from October Lease Sale
BATON ROUGE- The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, October 14th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge. The Board collected $96,492 in bonus revenue for the state in the October lease sale. To date, the total collected in bonus payments for this fiscal year, FY2015-16 is $3.6 million. At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 6 leases covering 387 acres, with nominated tracts covering just over 40,385 acres. The leases were located in Lafourche, Plaquemines and Terrebonne parishes. In the last fiscal year, the Board collected a total of $14 million in bonus payments and over $432.9 million in royalties for the state.
