State Mineral Lease Sale brings $2.2 million for month of March

BATON ROUGE - The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, March 11th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge. The Board collected $2.2 million in bonus revenue for the state in the March lease sale, bringing the Fiscal Year 2014-15 total collected to $10.2 million. At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 11 leases covering 1,108 acres, out of 23 nominated tracts covering more than 22,463 acres. The leases were sold in Catahoula, Concordia, Lincoln, Ouachita, Plaquemines, and Union parishes. In last fiscal year 2013-14, the board collected a total of $18.3 million in state revenue.
