The La. Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will sponsor and participate in Louisiana Earth Day 2009 in downtown Baton Rouge on Sunday, April 19th.
DNR officials and staff also plan to participate in several other environmental activities celebrating care and protection for the environment and our planet.
Earth Day 2009 is officially set for April 22 - and an emphasis this year and next will be to begin a global movement called “The Green Generation Campaign.”
DNR staff members from the Coastal Management, Ground Water Resources, and Energy offices will work under the Wetland’s Tent and the Going Green in Red Stick exhibits near River Road from noon to 5 pm on Sunday.
