Office of the Secretary
Statement from Department of Natural Resources Secretary Scott Angelle on the passing of F. Malcolm Hood, Jr.
“We at the Department of Natural Resources wish to express our heartfelt sympathy to the family of Malcolm Hood, Jr. His death will be strongly felt not only by the members of his family, his friends and business associates who knew him best, but also the people in the energy industry and those who may never have known the important role that he played in leading several organizations and participating in the legislative process in ways that bettered government for the citizens of the state and for business. Much of his governmental relations work touched on the way this Department performs its tasks, and therefore, we knew him to be honest, forthright and of great benefit not only to the field of governmental relations, but also to the energy industry and to the great State of Louisiana, where he was born and where he made a name for himself as a man to be admired, and above all, trusted. Our prayers go out for him and for his family.”
