STATE'S COMMISSIONER OF CONSERVATION APPOINTED AT DNR
Felix "Phil" Boudreaux has recently assumed the post of acting Commissioner of Conservation for the state's Office of Conservation, replacing former Commissioner Philip Asprodites. Boudreaux, who is a petroleum engineer and a 28-year veteran of the office, was appointed by Governor Mike Foster in January.

State Fishermen Gear Reimbursement Program Explained
The Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is responsible for the operations of the state's Fisherman Gear Compensation Program and Fund (FGCF). The fund was established by the legislature to reimburse commercial fishermen for lost or damaged vessels and gear due to underwater obstructions. Fishermen operating in state-owned water bottoms located in the Louisiana Coastal Zone that incur losses may place their claim with DNR.
Oystermen in State's Relocation Plan Receive Checks, so far $2 million Paid
Oyster leaseholders participating in the state's voluntary Oyster Relocation Program have received payments totaling $2 million so far, state officials announced today. Louisiana Department of Natural Resources officials say that by the end of September, there will be another $2.5 million in payments to leaseholders affected by the construction of the Davis Pond Freshwater Diversion project.
