Feasibility Study for Coast 2050 Plan Agreed on today at the Capitol
Putting their best foot forward in an effort to secure $14 billion to pay for the ravishes of coastal erosion, Department of Natural Resources Secretary Jack Caldwell and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Col. Thomas Julich signed an agreement to begin a coast wide feasibility study for the Coast 2050 Plan.
DAVIS POND WETLAND PROJECT TO BE DEDICATED ON MARCH 26TH NEAR NEW ORLEANS
The Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold ceremonies to dedicate and open the world's largest coastal restoration project designed to protect more than 700,000 acres of precious wetland habitat in Louisiana.
STATE'S COMMISSIONER OF CONSERVATION APPOINTED AT DNR
Felix "Phil" Boudreaux has recently assumed the post of acting Commissioner of Conservation for the state's Office of Conservation, replacing former Commissioner Philip Asprodites. Boudreaux, who is a petroleum engineer and a 28-year veteran of the office, was appointed by Governor Mike Foster in January.
