MINERAL BOARD HOLDS JUNE 1999 LEASE SALE
The State Mineral Board conducted a Lease Sale June 9, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. in the Mineral Board Hearing Room located in the State Land and Natural Resources Building in Baton Rouge. Below are the preliminary results of the Lease Sale and 1998-99 Fiscal Year totals.

State Mineral Board Secretary Gus Rodemacher said that the average monthly lease sale during F/Y 98/99 was $1,697,421. According to Rodemacher, the F/Y 98/99 year-end lease sales totaled $20,369,052 as compared to last fiscal year's total of $50,200,644.
Rodemacher also announced that Internet access to the Office of Mineral Resources' Leasing Section publications will allow users to view and download a number of its forms and documents. He said notice of publication for a lease, summary results and tract details of a lease, and other selections will be posted on the web.
Additonally, the Leasing Section has begun converting its index maps that show current state leases from a series of cloth maps to digital format. When completed these maps will be available online. The state's Office of Mineral Resources is within the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
