February Mineral Lease Sale Takes Big Jump
The State Mineral Board has awarded 39 leases, totaling $11 million last week during its monthly Lease Sale. The board’s chairman, Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Secretary Scott Angelle, said the records show this revenue amount to be the highest in eight years for a monthly yield.
Public Hearings Set on CIAP and CPRA Plans

Angelle Announces Next Steps to CIAP Plan Approval
State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Secretary Scott Angelle has announced today the release of the Louisiana Coastal Impact Assistance Program (CIAP) draft plan, which includes over 100 proposed projects within the 19 coastal parishes. DNR clears way for state acreage to be available for leasing
The Department of Natural Resources’ (DNR), Office of Mineral Resources announced today that it will be placing back on the market for mineral leasing approximately 46,000 acres in the next several weeks. The available acreage comes from parts of three existing state mineral leases which originated some 70 years ago.
DNR to Host Clean Cities Conference in New Orleans
The Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will host a statewide Clean Cities Conference on January 24-26, 2007 in New Orleans at the Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel. The conference will promote the use of alternative fuels to reduce air pollution and improve air quality. It will also focus on practices that help reduce dependency on foreign oil.
