State Mineral Board Awards Largest Lease Sale in 10 Years
State Mineral Board Chairman Scott Angelle announced today the results of this month’s mineral lease sale, calling it “the second highest for the state in ten years”. The October lease sale amounted to an $8.5 million payment on 75 leases awarded to oil and gas exploration companies drilling state properties both onshore and offshore, he said.

GOVERNOR’S COASTAL COMMISSION TO HEAR PUBLIC COMMENTS ON DRAFT PLAN
The Governor’s Advisory Commission on Coastal Restoration and Conservation will hold a public hearing on Friday, August 6, 2004 at 9 a.m. in the Oliver Pollock Room/C-111 of the Galvez Building at 602 North 5th Street in Baton Rouge. The hearing will be held to host comments from the public on the draft Louisiana Coastal Area Ecosystem Restoration Study (LCA Plan), a plan that addresses some of the state’s most critical coastal restoration needs in the near term.
