Rodemacher recently honored by energy leaders

Gus Rodemacher, secretary of the Louisiana Mineral Board, was recently given the “2003 Public Service Award” by members of the largest Gulf Coast region oil and gas networking group called GCEM. The Gulf Coast Energy Marketplace, managed by a committee of more than 20 industry leaders from Louisiana and Texas, held a conference, trade show, and power lunch in New Orleans, March 31-April 1. Special guests included New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin and David Boulet, the state’s oil and gas director for the Department of Economic Development.
Pipeline Safety Seminar to Focus on New Regulations

Secretary Caldwell, along with other nationally recognized leaders in the field of coastal habitat restoration, presented the information at a plenary session, entitled “Leadership Visions in Habitat Restoration.”

State Mineral Board welcomes new member at March meeting
Gov. M.J. “Mike” Foster recently appointed Ernest S. Easterly, III, a Southern University law professor, to the State Mineral Board. Easterly joined the ten-member board during its March mineral lease sale meeting.

DNR officials discuss new Federal Wetland Policy changes
Recently, changes in federal wetland policies have been the subject of many national, state and local news articles. Primarily, the current changes in wetland policies under the Bush Administration deal with isolated wetlands and with new mitigation guidance.
