DNR officials to speak on coastal amendments
Officials of the state Department of Natural Resources are available to speak at your function, free of charge. With two months remaining, citizens and voters of Louisiana will be deciding how they will vote on 15 constitutional admendments. Three of those admendments are issues that will affect the lives of Louisianians and the future of coastal resources in our state.

All meetings are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the following locations:

Round Two in Fight to Remove Hydrilla in Basin Starts Soon
Last year almost to the date a team of scientists, chemists, and state officials donned their boots, jumped into airboats and headed to Henderson to do battle. Thus, round one began in the fight to remove the noxious aquatic weed, hydrilla, from Henderson Lake in the Atchafalaya Basin.
E&P Waste Disposal Rules in State Expanded
Both commercial and non-commercial waste disposal operations in Louisiana now have the option of using salt dome caverns. According to the state Department of Natural Resources’ Office of Conservation, the regulations for the disposal of exploration and production (E&P) waste into solution-mined salt dome caverns became effective last month.
