State Mineral and Energy Board announces results of September Lease Sale

Baton Rouge- The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.

The Board collected $1.37 million in bonus revenue for the September lease sale. The current 2023-2024 total bonus payment is approximately $1.81 million. At this month’s lease sale, there were 6 leases covering 878 acres sold. The leases were located in Caddo, Desoto, Jefferson Davis, Plaquemines and Red River parishes. 

The total bonus payments to the state for the previous fiscal year, 2022-2023, amounted to $8.42 million.
