State Mineral and Energy Board announces results of December Lease Sale

Baton Rouge- The Louisiana Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.

The Board collected $3.98 million in bonus revenue for the December lease sale. The current 2023-2024 total bonus payment is approximately $6.65 million. At this month’s lease sale, there were 16 leases covering 2,531 acres sold. The leases were located in Caddo, Desoto, Grant, Iberia, Natchitoches, Plaquemines, Red River and Sabine parishes. 

The total bonus payments to the state for the previous fiscal year, 2022-2023, amounted to $8.42 million.

December 2023 Lease Sale Results
