MINERAL BOARD RELEASES MAY FIGURES
The State Mineral Board conducted a Lease Sale May 11, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in the Mineral Board Hearing Room located in the State Land and Natural Resources Building in Baton Rouge. Below are the preliminary results of the Lease Sale and 1999-2000 Fiscal Year totals.
KNOW-HOW SESSIONS FOR WEB USERS OFFERED BY DNR NO COST TRAINING AVAILABLE FOR SONRIS/2000
SONRIS/2000, the nationally-known information system designed by the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR), will be featured in a series of training workshops coming this May. DNR officials want on-line users seeking the state’s oil and gas records and maps to know that the system is designed to meet their needs.

The State Mineral Board conducted a Lease Sale April 12, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in the Mineral Board Hearing Room located in the State Land and Natural Resources Building in Baton Rouge. Below are the preliminary results of the Lease Sale and 1999-2000 Fiscal Year totals.
BATON ROUGE DESIGNATED "CLEAN CITY" TODAY
The Riverside Centroplex was the site today for activities designating the City of Baton Rouge (Greater Baton Rouge Area) a "Clean City" under a program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Mayor-President Tom Ed McHugh joined forces with state and federal officials, and business and community leaders in a campaign for clean air and the use of alternative transportation fuels in Baton Rouge and five surrounding parishes.
BAILEY TALKS WITH OIL MINISTERS ABOUT LOUISIANA'S OIL LEASING
Sandra Bailey, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Mineral Resources at the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources, has recently traveled to Caracus, Venezuela to meet with oil ministers on the topic of the state's mineral leasing program. In March of this year, she met with Venezuela's Minister of Energy and Mines Ali Rodriquez, and Director of Hydrocarbons Bernardo Alvarez.
TRAVELING "POLLUTION SOLUTIONS" DISPLAY AT LSU ON FRIDAY
BATON ROUGE---The public is invited to come and see the Pollution Solution Tour 2000: a national traveling display that includes a solar-powered mobile home and two alternative fueled vehicles, on Friday, March 17th at the LSU campus on Tower Drive from 10 am to 3 pm.

The New Orleans District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources today held an historic signing ceremony in Baton Rouge to launch a major coastal wetlands study.
